Importance of Mold & Mildew Removal

Do you have a patio? Are you concerned about mold and mildew build-up? Are you at a loss for how to best restore the original appearance of your patio?

Rather than live with mold and mildew on your patio, there are several steps you can take to eliminate this problem once and for all.

Before you do anything, it’s important to identify your problem. Let’s examine the difference between mold and mildew:

  • Mold: this is typically green or black, and is often associated with a larger infestation than mildew.

  • Mildew: unlike mold, mildew typically appears in white or gray patches. Mildew is not nearly as invasive as mold.

Can it Cause Health Problems?

Despite the fact that your patio is outdoors, mold or mildew build-up can still cause a variety of health problems. For example, black mold is often associated with:

  • Runny nose

  • Coughing

  • Wheezing

  • Sneezing

  • Sore throat

  • Nosebleeds

  • Itchy skin and eyes

Note: the symptoms of mold and mildew exposure are often shared with common allergies.

What Can You Do About It?

You can either live with mold and/or mildew on your patio – which is not suggested – or you can take immediate action.
